Finally got me an 8 string after waiting for almost a year... It's an Agile Intrepid Dual Pickup 8 string with a rosewood fretboard and bloodburst body. Specs are: # Ash Body # 3 piece maple bolt on neck with 15” radius. Width 2 ¼” at the nut # No inlays on the neck. Position markers on the side of the neck only # Scale Length: 28.625” 24 Jumbo Frets # Cepheus "Alpha" passive pickup in the bridge position and Cepheus "Beta" in the neck position with master volume and tone and 3 way switch. Cavity has been routed large enough to accommodate additional electronics # String through body # Die-cast Sealed Tuners with 18-1 ratio # Graphite Nut # Polyurethane Finish I'll post pics in the next post here... I'm so excited to finally have this.
will add more once I get it setup...They shipped it to everyone with a .060 8th string so it's kinda too thin for my taste. Going to get new strings tomorrow. So far, as you can see in the pictures, its a gorgeous instrument. I paid about $600 for it. It sounds good unplugged. Very loud and resonant. The extra scale length gives it a ton of clarity. Plugged in, it sounds amazing. Very clear sounding and distorts well. In terms of playability it's great. Quite a light body. Haven't seen how well it balances since I don't have a strap for it yet either. The neck is good. It's not ibanez thin which I'm glad for. I like thicker necks myself. It is quite fast though and flat. My hand can fit and move around it quite easily. I'll get it setup tomorrow and post more info. If you have any questions or anything ask away. Yeah, hopefully I'll have it done by this weekend. I'm kinda pissed I can't find any place with strings over .062 for my low F. It's a little too flappy for my taste, but it works fine so I guess beggars can't be choosers and whatnot
from rondo music. It's agile guitars official home. I'm not sure if they deliver to India though. I got mine in Vancouver. Also I'm not sure when he's going to take orders next. He does them in cycles. I wouldn't really recomend getting it in India though. One, the guitar tech guys will not know how to deal with dual truss rods and dual truss rods are quite complex to deal with. Two, you will not be able to get strings for the low end. If you do get it, order a ton of strings from the US. Also don't get it just for the cool factor. I absolutely hate all the extended range faggots right now in Delhi(and over the world) who've been getting seven strings just for the coolness of having it. I have yet to see anyone put a seven string to any good use in India. ...and I don't know if you have a seven string, but don't skip from a six string to an eight either. You will potentially be putting your wrist through a lot. I took my guitar to school today and found that was a common problem with all the 6 string players.
