Digitech RP350 for Zoom G2.1u? my shop walla is asking me. i have to pay just 1.5k and the new RP350 is mine. what should i do? not that i am having problems with g2.1u. but editing patches is pain. anyways, what do you think? a good trade?
If you've already tried the RP350, and feel it is better compared to the G2.1U which you own in context of what you want out of the processor, then 1.5k is I believe an ok price to pay for something you want rather than be stuck with something you don't. Ofcourse, this is keeping in mind you can pay 1.5k which methinks you can since you own a pretty nice (price wise) processor already.
ya i have tried the RP350. can't say which one is better coz i have tried only the factory presets on RP350 which i think are a bit better than crappy zoom. btw, the custom presets on zoom are awesome. also i liked the way you can transfer patches from PC to RP and upgradable firmware on RP (dunno if i can upgrade firmware in zoom). and one question. what does the extra A/B switch on RP350 do? can i set 2 amps in 1 patch? like Twin Reverb for cleans and Mesa for OD?
still confused whether i should do the trade or no? what i need is a good slash tone (which i get very well with g2.1u) and a good metallica tone. i have heard that digitech has weaker distortion than zoom. is it right?
LOL, there that decides it. RP is not such a great processor that you let go off your Zoom, where you are getting a tone that YOU want. Editing patches will be pain everywhere.
