Ok now that 'PS' is confusing. I have little or no knowledge about guitars. So no idea abt taylor and ovation etc..Like I said I'm a beginner. Joined classes two days bak. Just wanted to know if the guitar's gonna last 3-4 years at least.

I've been going thru the thread. Angel of sin, he's right. dont waste ppls time here. Give proper answers else get lost. Musichead, tristars guitars are not too great but they are are not bad either. Especially for a beginner, they are just about right. Beginners tend to unintentionally misuse/mishandle guitars while learning. Since guitars like Tristar are low cost, they are cheap to fix/maintain and are good learning tools.
About the lasting period, any guitar kept with care and maintained well will easily last 3-4 years. so dont worry on that front. Go ahead and enjoy your classes.

Considering your situation, you will have to get it examined by someone who is more proficient, and has spent more time with guitars.

Low end guitars coming out to be of good make/fit and finish is more like a lottery.
    Slim chances.

Ppl come here to waste tym.... N y did u evn care to go thru whole thread if u r so short of it junkie...
N musichead, just take care of the guitar, keep it away frm moisture, keep it in proper position (lying wid hole facing earth), use sum gud fretboard cleaner, use gud strings n it can last u a lyftym... Its lyk every guitar is a an individual, the chances of guitar being gud increases if its a reputed brand, but u can still get a gud guitar frm a lesser known brand... if u wanna be sure of it, take it to sumbdy who knows guitar...

10 years of playing and 4years in a band. Full time lead guitarist / part time bassy / prt time rhythm. Done blues / jazz / funk..........'it sure gives me a lot of experience' as well my frnd. Enough to give straight forward answers and not beat around the bush. Also gives the sense to help out beginners in whichever way possible, and not shun them. And read the thread carefully. His friend bought it for him on an impulse, not him. At least he has the sense to cross check before he uses it so that the dealer will be willing to exchange it. Appreciate that, instead of irking ppl and calling em jerks. I guess now we know who the jerk of the highest order is. 7 yrs of playing and nothing useful to say! tut tut..

I'm not short of it dude. I jus dont like wasting it. Be it mine or others'. I went thru it cuz i found it interesting. Ppl dont come here to waste time, but to talk about guitars in india and everything else related. Please dont call it waste of time. Anyway, I'm glad you at least answered the main question porperly. Cheers for dat.

Hello Distorted. My band's name is Draw-Three. We're not in the public eye as we had formed this band purely for our love of music. Ours is a three piece band. Occasionally we add another member for a few stints here and there (we're not in it for money). My college senior formed it with me and another guy. Right now we're in diff places. I'm in working in chennai, and other two are in diff cities working. Its been two years since we played, and we're waiting for the day to get jamming again..
