    hi everyone.......
few days back i bought electric guitar.....instead of going for cheap guitar+amplifier i decided to buy only "decent" electric guitar and buy amplifier after few months....and bought ARIA STG 006 with 2 humbacking coils .
for playing guitar i plug it int my pc/laptop's mic in port and uses Guitar FX 3 software with it.
now the problem is that i want to record my songs on pc/laptop........is there is any guitar effect processor s/w that also has an recorder in it.......if not then how can i do the recording..........
more than often i plug my guitar into my laptop's mic in port(as my laptop does not have line in port(but my pc have))) & i uses standard 3.5 mm headphones to listen and practice my sounds..........
is there is any way by which i can record sounds(which is coming from Guitar FX or other such s/w) when i plug guitar into mic in port of my laptop .....

i know sound recorded by computer/ laptop's mic is not of good quality.......i.e why i do not want to use s/w like audicity
so how can i record my sound directly from(or within the) PC/laptop?

Try using a program called audacity,it's free...

I think it might be better to get a proper amp though and record through the line out...but yeah, try audacity.

So you don't want to use a s/w for recording on your pc/laptop, than you won't be able to record anything on your pc! Unless you want to use the crappy inbuilt soundrecorder of Windows (Start - All Programs - Accesoires - Entertainment - Sound Recorder)!

To make good recordings on your machine you'll need a good soundcard, a zero latency card, there are some payable zero latency soundcards for home reording and stuff, just google for them!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention about the s/w, audicity is a good free recording prog.
I use Adobe Audition and Cubase SX 3, in my opinion Adobe Audition is the best prog for recording and editting your recordings and lots of more inbuilt features!

The guitar FX has a builtin recorder.
But i recommend the guitar rig software, its got lots more features.

His problem is not about recording with audacity. He wants to use the guitar FX software for distortion and record the output.

to record using fx 3.0 all you need to do is set on of those many drop down boxes to record...then go to tune.....there you can record for how much ever time you want...then you have to sync it with other tracks using audacity....
a far fetched method but thats the only one you can do rite now!!!
    hope this helps!!

    cheers!

just downloaded guitar rig..........i dunno is it just me....or what but it looks like it have toooo many "stuff" bundled into on place......it would take me some time to get adjusted to it...............but just now few minutes back when i pluged my guitar and turned it on.....there was too much of noise + delay .............i think i can be adjusted with bit of setting..........
but s/w itself looks like really complex..........BTW thx for info.
i'll tell u more about it after i would understand it's "functions" n all in it

i think if i want some good sound i'll have to buy amp as soon as possible....
just went to market to look some of amp......

there was stranger for Rs 2500 but without overdrive and with overdrive it was of Rs 3200 (i think both of them were of 15W) and there was aria's amp.....it was small of 10W with overdrive it was of Rs 2500............
    *at bharat music house ,delhi

are there are any other decent amp with overdrive between the range of 2000-3000(max)........

i know i am deviating from topic but guys any advice will be helpfull
