    Hi Guys,

I've just ordered this Givson electric guitar --> https://shopping.indiatimes.com/i/f/t/-pid-1518363-ctl-20375613-cat-960078-pc--&bid=&prc=&sid=&q=&

Now, this doesn't come with an amplifier, neither do I own one.

The question I wanted to ask is can I plug this guitar into my Music-System which has a Microphone-In port or my computer?

Also, he is supplying 2 cords with this guitar. Would these serve the purpose of plugging in the music system, or is there more investment involved?

If the answer to all the questions is No, No and No, then please suggest some website which can ship an amplifier/pocket amplifier. My further investment cannot exceed Rs.1500.

    alpha1 I BLUES!

You can plug it into your comp.
But you would need to buy a 1/4" to 1/8" jack.
Would cost you not more than INR 100.

hey ASG!! i had a similar query as urs. i recently bought a Givson panther. i dont hav an amp so i thought of connecting it to my pc speaker system which is intel. but ufortunately i found dat the pin of the guitar cord is too big for my subwoofer. and my subwoofer cable is too small for my guitar port.
so im gonna look for some converter pin at some elect shop.

by the way my subwoofer is 26oo watts with 4 satellites. will it do wid my guitar??
    anyone??

2600 is the PMPO output of your woofer. the rms output is probably about 100-150 watts. your guitar will work, that's not an issue but it will sound different from one played through a guitar amp. remember that a sound system will respond to most audio frequencies all of which are not guitar frequencies. a guitar amp is designed for guitars~!

    The Guitar got delivered today.

However, I am having troubles finding the Audio Jack, since I am not sure what I am looking for. I asked some store-keepers about the 1/4" - 1/8" jack or 6.5mm to 3.5mm jack, but they had no clue.

    1. Could someone help me out as to what does the jack look like so I can simply show them the picture and have it. I am sure they had it, but were not aware what's it called.

    2. Also, would like to know that this jack would help me to plug-in the guitar to the Computer. What jack would I need to plug it into the MIC-In socket of the music-system?

That's exactly what confused them the most. Talk about dipping IQ levels in this country. Duh.

Phone jack, huh. Are you sure?

IMO, it is going to be a female to male kind of jack, right?

i bought my greg bennett av3 last weekend n did not buy a processor so i downloaded some (guitar FX BOX 2.7, guitarfx3,revalver mk II,guitar rig) but i get annoying hum no matter what software i use. also the clean sound is so loud that i can barely distinguish between processed and clean sound if i increase the gain then only hum increases n saturates every thing.
plz its my first guitar and dont want to ruin the fun help asap.

    ^Get a processor.
Softwares r nowhere even in comparison...
Thou the problem u r facing is nt universal, it must b due to some fault...
But if u wanna 'enjoy' ur guitar, get a proc n amp... If u got a lot of money get pedals...

At the very least, get a nice amp.

There are many budget ones, even some under 2k.
They won't be great, but they'll do the job for now.
