Hello there guys... prajeeth here frm bangalore...currently pursuin my MBA..i have a deep passion for playing guitar right from my school days... therfore i joined for the guitar class recently...its been jus one month... well i am findin it a bit hard .. but hopefully i will be an expert someday.....
Dear Prajeeth, Welcome to the fraternity of Guitarists. Guitar is one of the most difficult instruments to learn and master. There is no end to it. Nobody can claim himself to be a complete expert or master b'cos one will always find someone else somewhat better. Anyways, Good luck for your future learning.
@bjr: IMO Keyboard is the easiest instrument to learn and master. There are infinite ways and techniques of playing a guitar, but I don't think there are as many ways to play the keyboards. I may be wrong as I am absolutely passionate about guitars. Please correct me if am on the wrong side.
well, I'll put in my 2 cents here: To start with, the synth is definitely easier....it doesn't hurt your fingers and you can just play the white keys and still be completely in scale. Compare that with the guitar where you need to co-ordinate both hands and once you manage that, the left hand stretches kill you and then you get callouses/blisters. Once you get past that stage, the guitar gets a little easier. Transposing scales and chords on a guitar are far easier. You can just know a scale shape and play it somewhere else to get a different scale....same with chords. Beyond that is anybody's game. It's really hard to sound great on either. Personally, I think the guitar is thought to be cooler so you can impress people easier on the guitar than on the synth though vocals beat both hands down there.
woww... interesting ..... i hardly know much about musical instruments... but staying here wid u guys will definitely increase my knowledge about music... thank u guys for all ur interesting replies... cheers..
