starting out with Saaral - the band

hey guys,
Some of my friends and yours truly have worked together and compiled a self titled album-- Saaral.What started out as a garage project,with the help and support of a variety of sponsors , has turned into a complete album consisting of 7 songs.We are planning to release it in tamil and hindi hopefully on the first week of january (new year) .Do check out www.saaral.net .There are audio clips for 3 of the songs .I would really like to get some feedback from you all.

Very good guys, its done very professional. Liked the song Sapne the most as i think it really sounds very good. One little disadvantage, the female singer owns a very good voice as she sings very well too, but the Sur isn't very well, the short part on your homepage started a bit out of Sur as she went out of tune at places, but not badly, very less, i think the majority of the people won't even hear it!
Overall you guys are doing a very, very good job, my compliments to you guys, keep posting man and take care!

really exceptional and professional. and i dint notice any sur faults so keoraf is right that ordinary people wil not notice it ( may be due to ringing ears. )
i would hav liked a little variety and peppiness in the songs like chalt hawa but thats just an opinion.

thnx man..Actually,Even we felt that some of the faster songs needed more "oomph".But the minute we added those elements in,we began to get the feeling that the album was starting to sound very "commercialised" and we were dead against that.We wanted to showcase some different styles of structuring and arrangement to the indian market without being too radical (sry DT fans).. .We want to be unique in the market.
If by variety n peppiness,your were talking about something else, do correct me..

 

keoraf you must have an execptional ear!! i couldnt make out a single sur fault in sapne......


as for you guys....excellent recording.....im not really into that genre so i cant tell you much....

but i wish you all the best! hope you'll do well!!!

If i have exceptional ears, i don't know man. I just know there are Sur faults in that song, but as i said before, not badly, just a little bit.
If they are making their music just for the fun, just as i'm doing than its perfect, but he said he wants to release his album, then it has to be 100% and that isn't in my opinion. But i just agree with you, just some great stuff, really awesome, just keep going guys!

 

i think keoraf really understands us in terms of being perfectionists.Selling anything less than perfect is meaningless.

Ok, all of you , in your honest opinion ,would you buy it ??..

lol .. i am not asking you this to boost sales or anythin ,n i dont want people to "buy it to help the scene n stuff"..Just for the music ..would you use your hard earned money n purchase it ??..cuz ..in the end of the day ,money does have a say.there cant be 2nd album without it..
