MTV.

MTV popularizes ultra crappy music.
Music you wouldn't listen even for a second given a choice.
But since it is aired continuously on MTV, the masses start liking it.

PS: One more reason is that most ppl like songs on MTV because of the Video.

Audience, I suppose? The people who like good music, or for that matter, different music, aren't a big enough demographic.. So we don't get new stuff, different stuff or good stuff..

 

@SqueakM9, I have the same thoughts. It was the invention of the CD writer. due to which people just copy an album brought by a friend (piracy). Thats where bands in India cannot really survive. Cheers pal....

@augur : IGT? , where do you hail from. why are you even on this forum. News flash if it wern't for piracy maybe you would not even know what music is. Now that would be a good thing would'nt it my friend.

@alpha1 : MTV playing crappy music ...ya kinda of (they infact don't even play music more of a reality TV then music tv), but we have the choice to watch other music channels or specific programs according to the genre of music we like.

Pop music.
But for Bollywood.. I'm not sure....

 

how can a genre of music be a disadvantage. I was refering to piracy which is mainly because of the invention of the CD/DVD burner. It should have never been sold with home computers and only had the ROM. maybe sold for just business firms with some kind of a licence. Well to late now. Just need new kind of music devices invented with the media for loading albums. and none of these should be compatible with a computer. Else dooms day. We will have to wait n watch.
