I just checked out the Plutos on the web...they're pretty cheap and built out of good wood (you're talking in rupees, im talking in canadian dollars). rosewood is the best kind of wood for the side and back of a guitar, especially brazilian rosewood. Make sure you get a solid top (sitka spruce is very common, but mine is made of cedar, which has different properties and sound qualities). All in all, check out the different wood versions of the same guitar before you buy one. i recommend checking out epiphones and takamines for beginners (i started out with an epiphone dr200ce, its a beautiful guitar). i dont know if you are able to get your hands on a simon and patrick or a seagull, those are some wicked canadian built low to mid range guitars for the budget.

^^the scene here in india is tht we dont get takamines or epiphones cheap.. they are pricey for most of the people who have just started...
@ pluto guitar.. they are very good guitars for the money but there pickup is a little weak..

hmmm...so what are the popular brands of guitars in india? in canada most of the japanese and north american guitars are pretty cheap, unless you go for the gibsons or taylors or martins...those get pricey. i guess they would be expensive for you guys due to shipping costs and duties for the woods.

I am an acoustic guitar player of about 2 years (self-taught for self-expression). my first guitar was an epiphone dr200ce, which was really nice as a first guitar but i decided i wanted to move on with my musical inclination. my next guitar was a Simon and Patrick...here's the link https://www.simonandpatrick.com/vintageburstcwcedar.htm . its the best guitar i've picked up and played...perfect for my playing style, which is mostly fancy rhythm and chords stuff. i paid about $800 CAD, i dont know how much in rupees that translates to. i also have a shitty yahama electric that's with a friend right now..but thats mostly my punk style guitar - i put on the strap and strum as hard as i can without breaking strings. whats the going price on a decent acoustic in india?

my acoustic guitar cost me Rs700 thats something like $15
    its pretty decent to me

How good a guitar sounds depends a lot on the player

wow...fifteen bucks??? thats how much i pay for a set of strings plus gas to drive me to the closest music store (about 15km of farmland into the middle of nowhere).

a guitar sound does depend on the player. but then again people play the same damn chord in a song and what do u know, it ends up sounding different on all guitars. why? well for starters, the guitar's different. if the sound is originally good, it makes you want to practice more and make it sound even better. you need a tremendous amount of drive to learn a new instrument. every little bit counts

dont know much about pluto guitars, but the features they tell simply rock,
the one which costs around 6k has a inbuilt tuner and pickup with three band eq

but one thing i dont understand ,is how can they manage to put a solid top in just 6000,
the ad says the guitar has a solid spruce top.

well just try before u buy, and don't order online, they may be convinent but are unreliable.

and i advice u ,when buying guitars in india, don't take advice from forgieners :NoNo:

the scene there is totally diffrent, we take the names of givsons and hobners, so proudly, there they are called 'junk guitars'

There's a reason they're called "junk guitars", maybe the standard living is just about the same as the standard of guitars here...then again we pay a fortune for our instruments and expect them to age in the future

oh yea...and what's up with Givson? even their logo's a rip-off of the legendary Gibson guitar company

    man india is india...........

not just givson, we have hobner from honer
and exact replicas of fender, and duplicates doing the rounds of market,
and u cud get a guitar(junk) from us.$ 15-50 all fitted with pickups and equalizers, (though they r not good)

and the top is damm solid, total plywood(laminated wood)

damm, hard cud be used to smash anybody's head,

a set of local made strings costs from $1-$2

    and pickups from $2- $20

    Life_Sans_Death Acronym!

Nobody in their right mind in India regards Givson as a good brand. Hobner has some decent jumbos, but givson, give it away son.

@topic: Get a granada. Or maybe save up a bit and get a yamaha or fender. Plutos don't age well. It will be worth your money to spend 2k more and play for 5 years and not to spend 2k less and play 2 years less.

life_sans _death, u got the right point..... dude

well u know i'm talking abt the general attitude towards, givson. well it's cheap and sturdy. that's why everyone buys it as a first guitar, and no matter if its givson or hobner, all made of plywood,

but yes hobners are better, and signature are the best of all...

i too had one, and man it wass horrible, no truss rod, plus the top was coming off and i had to glue it back. mann,.... what a headache,

If they consider it bad yet we consider it good, then they must be exposed to better guitars than we are.

Would it not be wise to go for whats good overall instead of choosing something from limited options?
