This is a discussion on How many of you can play "Layla" on you guitar? within the Music Talk forums, part of the All Music Talk category; I was trying to learn Layla..i googled for the tabs and chords but Mr.Clapton has copyrights hence many dont have ...

    How many of you can play "Layla" on you guitar?

    I was trying to learn Layla..i googled for the tabs and chords but Mr.Clapton has copyrights hence many dont have it..i turned into youtube and there also you dont get great tutorials for it..Suddenly it occured to me there might be guitarists/experts at IGT playing it ? Overall i wanted to know how many were/are/is interested in Layla!
    So tell How many of you can play the greatest song of all time "Layla" by Eric clapton on your guitar-acoustic/electric?
    here are the options

    a] never thought or tried! What song is this 'layla'?
    b] am an expert and know all of them-tabs,chords and even sing along
    c] i can play chords
    d] i can play the tabs

    shame on you...havent you heard the song layla by eric clapton...now please dont say that you dont know eric...he is a legendary guitarist of all times...just by heart the song and write it 100 times thats your punishment...

    (staff notations are better than tablatures)

    Eric Clapton may not really appeal to someone who likes Flamenco or Western Classical or Speed Metal shred.
    I feel the best time was during the Cream. You may feel it was during the Derek & Dominos ...

    And Layla - I don't feel that is really his best composition.

    Which one do you think is his best? Personally, I'm not a huge Clapton fan (a fan but not in the "Clapton is God" vein). I love some of his songs and Layla would be right up there for me...but maybe the Duane Allman solo has a lot to do with it?

    and yeah, I can play Layla but I can only sing the blues version and that too not very well. And I agree, I've never really found a good tab for the song but then again, I never really tried very hard to.

    well the songs which i like are...to name a few...wonderful tonight,bell bottom blues,white room,after midnight etc etc @alpha 1...then in that case you will be liking el mariachi,antonio vivaldi...even i like them infact after completing my engineering am planning to do gradation from trinity...

    i got all eric claptons collections..right from the 'derek and the dominos '..btw am already a grad..so born before you..so know better musicians of my generations and a decade before that well..clapton happens to be one among them.got it?

    i dint even say he is god!..everybody like different music so one musician cant be claimed the best..i got that much CS!

    you try once and see if the results in the above mentioned website display results or not[atleast am not getting it in my country]..its made unavailable coz clapton has copyrights!

    any result on that website if it gives u result..tell me
