All the tabs for the intro of PRETTY CHILD all over the internet are WRONG. You just need to see the live video once to realize it.

Capo is on 5th fret.
And the intro is based on E chord at 12th fret, D chord at 10th fret, B min chord at 7th fret and A chord at 5th fret.
Simple.

Why you keep capo at 5th fret? Because you wish to play notes at 5th fret (while your hand is at E chord /12th fret) but you don't have such long spidery fingers.


PS: I hope I have typed the right fret position for the chords. (Don't have the guitar with me while typing this)
