    its simple
    understand it step by step

    #################
    STEP 1 - STRING NAMES
    #################

    E---------------
    B---------------
    G---------------
    D---------------
    A---------------
    E---------------
These are string names - the topmost line is the thinest string on the guitar

    #################
    STEP 2 - NOTE POSITIONS
    #################

    E -----0-------|
    B -------1-0---|
    G ---2-------2-|
    D -2-----------|
    A -------------|
    E -------------|

Here the number indicates the FRET NUMBER on the STRING it is placed

    #################
    STEP 3 - MOVEMENT
    #################

    E -----0-------|
    B -------1-0---|
    G ---2-------2-|
    D -2-----------|
    A -------------|
    E -------------|
If the tabs are as shown above, it means that there is only one note played at one time.

If the tabs are as shown BELOW, where many notes are in one straight column.
All the notes have to be played together, like a chord

    E -0-----------|
    B -1-----------|
    G -2-----------|
    D -2-----------|
    A -0------------|
    E -0------------|

    #################
    STEP 4 - TIMING
    #################

This is one thing that a TAB notation can never tell you.
That is, how long to wait between two notes, does a note sustain or does a note mute?
For this, you have to first hear the song properly, memorise the tune in your head and then use the TAB as a GUIDE to help you with the right notes, TABS do not tell you TIME

    #################
    STEP 5
    #################

First learn your basics, understand what a guitar is, understand theory of music, understand that learning the guitar is NOT EQUAL to learning a song.

SO stop staring at this, and go LEARN

    Great work Bandbaja.
This is the first song which I learnt on guitar. If I remember correctly it took me almost a month to be able to play it smoothly and its still the most favourite among hindi songs. Amazingly the way I play seems almost identical to your notes:-))

    Keep posting dude.

    hey bandbaaja ...

i reckon that this song was sung by Mohd Rafi ... Bhupi had sung "Ek Akela is shehar mein ... raat or dopar mein ..." <--- that one ... his voice is very different ...

anyway his guitaring is awesome ...
