I heard that the Delhi/Gurgaon show got cancelled.

Seems like ppl there actually wanted Metallica to open for Mika ... (no, not Hakkinen)

It actually did happen. Metallica refused to open for Mika => Crowd unruly => Police not in control (as usual) => Metallica scared for their lives => Show postponed and ultimately cancelled

A few F1 "enthusiasts" were temporarily on high, because they felt this was about Mika Hakinen.

yeah i guess you could say that for people who can likeappreciate metal..

but you can't disagree with the fact that metallica is the easiest band to make fun of

    yeah thats true dude
but its the starting point nearly for everyone
    i'm not relly a fan
but I feel no shame saying that i would have attended it if it were in mumbai! :P :P

    For me:
the choice for me is simple
going to the rock concert of an internationally acclaimed band V/s sitting at home listening to music

some people find it cool to say that Metallica suck donkey balls... but they are what they are... They have been the best in the industry... and seeing them live is on my "things to do before i die" list...

well i'm not sure how you can say their recent albums don't suck donkey balls. i mean LULU? LULZZZ

also if you see their old albums had a very simple formula (not saying it wasn't good, i love RtL, MoP and all) that was constantly rehashed. it wasn't anything revolutionary so yea..metallica was a good band and that's all that they were. and no matter what some people claim, metallica did not in ANY WAY pioneer the thrash metal genre. so what exactly have they done that so many other metal bands haven't? (except commercial success so....)
