a musical challenge would be to create an objectively good piece of music that in an ideal world everyone would appreciate, if not like.
But then there is no definition of good music, what is music to your ears maybe noise for me. Beauty of the music is in the ears of the listener. Also your definition of ideal world may not match with mine. But then this is what makes it interesting.

But making music that appeals to people is not a job for marketing. I mean there can be superbly good piece of music that purists will like and appreciate but if the common people cannot relate to it, appreciate it i will believe i have failed. These are just my viewpoints. This what i believe my playing should be. There should be something for everyone, a little bit complexity a little bit simplicity, just the right balance. There should be parts that purists will admire and then there will be something for the general public too. I am again saying that this is my approach towards music and i am just sharing it and in no way saying that the others are bad or they should have a similar approach.

There should be no argument in this matter. How can you separate the two? It's like the soul and body and together it makes music, something like our existence. That's the part where Harmony comes in music. "Theory of Harmony" by Arnold Shoenberg both explains about that in easy details. Grab hold of this book.
