wrote this one yesterday....kinda long....hope u all like it!it is a conversation, between me(an evergreen optimist), and a little pessimistic and sad boy.....
you see small children, the are careless, they have no worries and no tentions....but in this poem, it is the other way round....this small boy is just 10, but he is really sad and worried, cause he got to know the harsh realities of life....i wont say more, read on!
i've dealt with a serious topic but have tried to make it a little comic!
Harsh Realities Of Life-A Conversation
It was a beautiful day,
a day like no other,
i was walking down the street,
and i saw my little brother.
But he was not his usual self,
his face filled with fear,
a frown on his forehead,
a burden he could not bear.
ME-"what is it that troubles you?"i asked
"on such a bright sunny day!"
"confide in me what bothers you....
if you may"
The little boy-"Yes, the day seems bright today,
but is it always going to be so?"
"no wait, let me tell you the answer....
the answer is NO!"
he continued-"today, i got to know,
about the harsh realities of life,
i never knew that there were strings attached,
and it cuts like a knife"
"someday, i am going to be old,
my dreams not yet achieved,
expectations still out of me"
his tentions, thus he relieved.
"my dreams....are just dreams,
i wont make it on my own,
and whatz the worst!
i have got to pay a bill, to keep my telephone"
i looked at the boy,
and i started to wonder,
what was it that had made this symbol of zeal and hope,
to the harsh realities of life, surrender.
ME-"Yes, you have to pay the telephone bill,
that is life's harsh reality,
but who says your dreams are just dreams!,
that aint true, that is pure insanity!
"You can make it on your own,
provided you have faith and zeal...
life is going to test you,
it is on you, to go on or kneel."
"Yes, you are going to grow old,
but my lord!you are just ten!
you have got a whole life in front of you!
why worry about the end?"
I looked at him, and saw him smile,
his tentions, thus relieved,
it was on him, to believe me or the harsh realities,
and it was me, i guess, he believed.
But wait!, i saw him frown again,
his mind still had a doubt,
i sensed it and said,
"Dont be afraid, speak it out."
"Your words make sense,
i shall achieve what i will,
but tell me the truth, and be frank,
is there really something like the telephone bill?"
i bang my head against the wall.....
