    OPEN TUNING

An open tuning is one where the strings are tuned so that a chord is achieved without fretting or pressing any of the strings. With such a tuning, other chords may be played by simply barring a fret or through the use of a slide.

    The normal tuning is

    |------e
    |------b
    |------g
    |------D
    |------A
    |------E

The open tuning for C chord is

    |------e
    |------c
    |------g
    |------E
    |------C
    |------G

In order to play D chord on this open tuning, we have to bar the 2nd fret and to play E chord on this open tuning, we have to bar the 4th fret and so on ...

Open tunings are common in blues music and some rock and folk music. They are particularly used in steel guitar and bottleneck guitar playing.

Notable players who make extensive or exclusive use of open tuning include Ry Cooder, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Richie Havens, Joni Mitchell, Jonathan Broke, Joe Walsh and Kevin Shields.

Great post! We also use that kind of open tuning in our song. The best thing about this is that, no one will be able to understand what chord i am playing

    Arrow Lesson: Chord Name Theory

There isn't a standard in chord naming. Often, we find many different names for the same chord, specially in the Internet. For this reason, it's important to understand the meaning of the chord names.

so i've posted a lesson on Chord Name Theory ... check it out ...

i already know the theory and high level of that i.e. hammer on and pull offs...and i told i been practicing it for 1 month now...in another way, what i want is "a meaningful series of notes by that i can be able to get started and carry on with my intention and fulfill it to my satisfactory extent in a very disciplined way", in other words its called "EXERCISE" , do u have it?if u have pls share wid me. it wud be very helpful.
