Song is set to Mohana Ragam; an auduva ragam(5 note-pentatonic scale)
Arohanam: S R2 G3 P D2 S Avarohanam just the reverse
With Shadjam set at "e" the western notes for this song are "e,f#,g#,b,c#"
IR has brought Sudha Madhyamam "a" & Kakali Nishadham "d#" to derive the chords G#min & Bmaj
It is quite strange to choose Bb-dim as Bb doesn't even fit E Major Scale; though the notes "c# & e" are in E Maj Scale found in BbDim Chord; but these anniya swarams participate only in rhythm; once we play song melody they won't interfere

It would be easy to pick related diatonic scale when the janya ragams are derived from parent ragam "Shankarabharanam" like this case
