    More than 2 billion viewers
Multi-platform distribution (television, radio, internet, wireless) reaching in excess of 2 billion people across the globe.

The global audience gathered for Live Earth, its ongoing actions, and the proceeds from the concerts, will form the foundation for a new, multi-year international initiative to combat the climate crisis led The Alliance for Climate Protection and its Chair, Al Gore.

Fox News is reporting Metallica join the ranks of Paul McCartney, The Who and others bands who organizers say will be signing on to perform at Wembley Stadium in London in this summer's Live Earth concerts on July 7th.

The Rolling Stones have just denied the report that they will play the show. "Not happening," a spokesman for the band said in an email (read story on UG).

Said to be included to the bill are Metallica, Madonna, Red Hot Chilil Peppers, James Blunt and Bloc Party.

The report failed to mention The Who have a gig in Roskilde, Denmark, on July 7th, while The Stones are booked to play in Rome the night before.

Live Earth is a series of concerts that's being spearheaded by former Vice President turned environmental crusader, Al Gore to help spread his message of a Global Warming crisis. There are supposed to be seven shows on seven continents on July 7th, 2007.

Artists who have already been announced include Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Foo Fighters, Melissa Etheridge, Duran Duran, John Mayer, Kelly Clarkson, Snoop Dogg, Corinne Bailey Rae, John Legend, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Here's who will be playing at Wembley Stadium in London:

Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party, Corinne Bailey Rae, Damien Rice, David Gray, Duran Duran, Foo Fighters, Genesis, James Blunt, John Legend, Keane, Madonna, Paolo Nutini, Razorlight, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow Patrol

Here's who will be playing at Giants Stadium in New Jersey:

AFI, Akon, Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Fall Out Boy, John Mayer, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, KT Tunstall, Ludacris, Melissa Etheridge, The Police, Rihanna, Roger Waters, Sheryl Crow, Smashing Pumpkins

And, cross-checking with the original list of big names that was released, who does that possibly leave Shanghai with?

That's right — absolutely no one. But let's take a wild guess and say that Cui Jian will be there. (Oh, and Robin Gibb.)

Not only do we not know who will be performing, the Shanghai concert location is the only one that is still TBD.
so i guess it wont be worth going to the shanghai concert
