well since this thread is already here, i thought i'd post my guitar project in progress. we have a wood workshop in our college so i thought, well dont get opportunities like this all the time. this one's more of an art project to me than an engineering one, so im going to be buying all the electronics rather than building them. Although i am considering winding my own pickups just to see whether it would sound like a bullet wound or a car crash =P
Here's the sawn out and glued together body (high quality plywood since i cant afford hardwood)-
this was a pain to carve and sand. first time im ever using woodwork tools, i decide to make a guitar. should've started with a chair or something >_<
premade neck gotten offa ebay, maple with rosewood fretboard -
neck and body test join after routing the neck cavity and the edges -
didnt screw it all the way in, but it looks like the neck plate might be a millimetre or two over the curved edge, gah, shouldnt have been so enthusiastic with the sanding
Anyway this things gonna get a neck bucker and bridge single, with a five way super switch for coil tapping and stuff and NO pickguard. Heh dont expect to see this completed anytime soon, its probably going to be over a month before i can afford the hardware and start routing cavities for them. By the time its done its going to end up costing me more than an Epiphone LP.
Crossing fingers for next project to be either LP carved top ply or flat hardwood one =P
@thread starter: PICS OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN :P
@Luthier: those are some pretty sweet looking bodies, what did you use to carve them out?

doesnt afraid of nothing
The theory is impressive. I need solid proof. Pics and recordings. Or this is to be considered copied. And if you really succeed you are a genius.
Anyone advise me for a good brand new/second hand effects pedal. Online deals through ebay are welcome.
Its not how many 7s or 6s or 13s or sus or augs you know. Its how good you play the simplest chords and whether your heart delivers the music.
if u've prepared one send me i'm ready to pay 1000bucks if it works like real electric guitar
Images that have disappeared from my previous post :
doesnt afraid of nothing
ow that u have a bar magnet.... (aprrox the 1.5 cm by 6 cm).....and the insulated wire u can begin... start winding the wire carefully onto the magnets height in such a way that the 1.5 by 6 cm side faves upwards.... wind carefully and neatly as this is essential for quality.....make sure u leave atleast 25 cm of unwound wire on both sides...u can stop winding when the thickness of the wound wire around the magnet is about 0.7 to 1 cm thick......
now u need a cover for ur pickup.....these can be easily found in the market....and are very cheap... find the one that can fit ur magnetic pick....
now fit the cap on ur magnetic new york escort pick and embed it in new york asian escort the new york escorts depression in ur gitar new york asian escorts body...(best if this depression is 3 cm from the bridge..and is 1 cm deep)..
now u have the pick with two open wires at its ends... scrub or burn away abt 1 cm of insulation from both ends....and connct the wires to the jack socket...( u'll need a depression for the socket aswell)
buddy thats awesome, i am gonna try
me and my friend are gona mod a givson basic model with 2 humbuking pickups and a new neck :D soon . gona turn it into a silver tone :D

@havoc.....hey u stole the idea....i saw it in 2004 at a guys website....u jus copied it and pasted it :(......not fair bro
this thread is, by far. one of the stupidest things i've ever seen on the internet.
Ohk..i must say never stop experimenting, but i don't think it will match any of the good electric guitars available on the market...no offense...but it took years of R&D to produce a good gear...
Then again...i'm just saying...
