Well if you are pretty sure that you will stick to electric guitar.
    Go ahead with it.
If you don't like the tone of acoustic - buying one will only make you repent when you see another electric.

And some people suggested to gain some experience over acoustic and then switch over to electric.thats why a low budget acoustic guitar...
let us know what you eventually do
i hope low budget doesnty mean too low
in my opinion if electric is your calling dont waste time and money on a acoustic
you can always buy one later if you wanna revert to acoustic music
keep in mind however that you cant play an electric without electricity

    i think its 8k?
    i've played this
it is very light for an electric
i didnt know that Peavey made guitars before i played it...
    i didnt really like it
but i guess thats what you get for being cheap
i wouldnt recommend this to anyone
if i had only 7-8k for an electric then i would trust a tulsi over this

i guess..i'm gonna hold on the buying thing for a while...and may be increase the budget of electric for the meantime and also gain some experience over acoustic....the only thing i find difficult is
the old country texas kinda style music...thats tricky for me.. :/

You mean that music can't be played over Acoustic?
AS far as I know - it is MEANT for acoustic and was adapted for playing on electric.

Vader - electric guitar being light is a boon when you are standing up (in your jam room or on stage) - and how come Tulsi guitars available for 7-8K??? He has reduced the prices?

Volcano, the cheapest guitar you should get, if there are no other options, is the Yamaha Pacifica 012. I own one and its amazing for the price. I haven't played many guitars in my life, but the pac012 is the best guitar for the price. Dude if you wanna get an electric, get it man. No one is gonna hold you back. If you get a Pacifica 012 and a peavey vypyr 15, I can guarantee you that it'll sound good and play good. And after a couple of months, you can change the bridge pickup. The general consensus is that, new pickups on an agathis body guitar will suck. Because agathis is a dead tone wood. Well from my experience, agathis sounds better than basswood and its much more warmer. A lot of people in the seymour duncan forum advised me to get the Seymour Duncan Distortion SH-6 for the bridge and they said that it'd be good. Its gonna be much better than the stock pickup. It doesnt take a Post-Graduate to realize that. Go for it.

all that matters about a guitar is not the wood, pickups or anything else
it is that the guitar should sound good to you
because u have to play it

    Thats also pretty personal ;-)
Unless your preferences are driven by internet opinions (EMGs are sterile, SD are clear, PAF are warm etc)

point... but as of now i like my guitars on the heavier side...
..jamming is ok and i've never gigged for over 20 mins

My dad had bought one around 2-3 years back for 8k(*i think*)...he plays.. and obviously much better than me
it had a single pick up...
    sound was nice

No its not a personal opinion. Im pretty sure that changing the pickups for some SDs will be way better than sticking with the stock pickups. Most stock pickups are not that great IMO. And Ive never played a guitar with EMGs, so I don't know whether its sterile or anything. But Im sure new pickups will change the sound of the guitar and increase the quality of the instrument to a certain extent. Why do you think all the PROs change their pickups?
