Improvisation help - chord progressions and rhythms
I'm trying to explore more in improvisation, trying to spice it up too.
(Both styles which I play - fingerstyle and touchstyle - allow one to play bass, rhythm and melody at the same time.)
I'm looking for new
-chord progressions - hopefully involving more exotic chords, I want to explore more tonalities
-and more rhythms - for accompaniment.
Hopefully something I try will inspire more ideas - the progressions and rhythms I've been doing so far (see below) just don't inspire me for melodies anymore.
The chord progressions I've done so far -
Major keys - I-V7-I, I-IV-V7-I (sometimes I sneak in a vii(dim)-I).
Minor keys - i-iv-V.
The kinds of accompaniment I've done so far -
-Simple bass notes in crotchets, and sometimes in quavers.
-The kind of rhythm in Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca, i.e. oom-pah-pah-pah (4/4) and oom-pah-pah (compound time).
Any ideas/hints, as well as outright suggestions, would be helpful :D
