Do you record to wave or to mp3?
20-30 megs for a regular mp3 is weird :-p If it's a wave though you can convert it to mp3 and reduce it to a tenth of the size, google and try one of the myriad converters available online.
IMHO Audacity is cool for converting single files cause it lets you play with the audio a bit as well :-) [http://audacity.sourceforge.net] but you'll still need to find the LAME (or BladeEnc) encoder DLL to go with it.
"You know," said Arthur, "it's at times like this, when I'm trapped in a Vogon airlock wth a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxication in deep space that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was young."
"Why, what did she tell you?"
"I don't know, I didn't listen."
