well if i could have any guitar it'd probably be a PRS style Double-Cut 8-string with the following:
Kahler 8 string trem.
8 string MIDI pickup
Some for of piezo pickups in atleast the highest 6 strings fed to a variax system inside
Seymour Duncan 8 String Blackout pickups
The MIDI system gets fed to a breakout box like the Gibson MAG!C system.
The 8 string pickups have traditional output(btw, you said input jack, its output) in case it's necessary. An onboard DA converter sends a digital signal to the breakout box.
The Variax system has an ethernet extension to a breakout box as well as traditional output to a second output jack.
On the guitar itself there will be two volume knobs. One for the combined pickups and one for the piezos.
There will be a pickup selector as well as a killswitch. A third knob controls the variax system.
Finally on the breakout box I will have a system for outputs:
Each individual MIDI output
2+4 MIDI output and 4+4 output
That would be my ultimate guitar. With enough features to keep me going forever. MIDI outputs to control whatever I want. Not actually impossible to do. and shit simple to understand. It'll behave like a standard guitar when I want it to and a super techy one later on.
and to comment on ur setup:
you'd have a very uninteresting tone. It would be very high gain but but you'd crap out on the cleans.
