You can "identify" them? Well, now learn to play them.

First, learn to play the following basic open chords - A C D E G Am Em Dm

Next, practice switching back and forth between chords with a clock or a metronome until you can do it fast and accurate. This is the important step. learning the chords alone is useless, this allows you to use those chords.

This should keep you busy for quite some time, depending on how many hours you put in per day... Leave barre chords for now, learn them after you've become proficient at the open chords.
