6. Enough explanation is given on the 'understanding guitar tabs' forum.

Anyhow.. the tab structure is simple to understand. The 6 horizontal lines in the tabs correspond to the 6 strings in guitar. The lower most line corresponds to the 6th string(Thickest string) on guitar and the top most one represents the 1st string, thinner most one on the guitar.
The numbers placed on each line represents the fret positions.

E---------1---0-----
B----3-----------1--
G--------------------
D--------------------
A---------------------
E--------------------
Refer the above tab, you find the number 3 on the second line (from the top) of the tab.. it means you should hold ur left hand finger on 3rd fret of second string.Next is to hold on 1st fret of the 1st string, next strike the open string of 1st string (0 means open string) and so on.
This is the basic.. is it still confusing?

Thnaks arunrx well i do understand the thing u explained

but what i get confused is sometimes the order we play

for e.g

E---------1---0-----
B---------3--------
G-------- 5----------
D---------3----------
A---------3-----------
E---------4---------

What does this mean am i suppose to play all six strings together at these different fret positions

if the numbers are together..it means u have to play it at the same time..

normally chords are posted that way..or maybe double stops.

it means u have to either strum or pluck it at the same time.

10. I know a guy from mumbai, he had shown me his book, even his guitar teacher had taught him these notations.
